Keeping a project free of metal and nails on the grounds during and after construction is always a problem and liability. PBA is now requiring contractors to use both a magnet and metal detector each day during construction to locate and remove metal and nails from the site especially for schools and churches where there are many children present that could step on a nail. Magnets do not locate aluminum and stainless steel so a metal detector is used to help find these items.
At the end of the construction phase, PBA is recommending Teams Sweep on our projects to locate and remove metal debris from the grounds. Teams Sweep has the experience in using a metal detector that we are looking for and the cost is very reasonable. At the conclusion of their sweep, they will provide a certification and show the items found during their sweep. The firm is also a woman owned and veteran operated business.
